Scott Salmon - Lead Vocals, Guitars

Scott Salmon is the voice, spirit, and namesake behind Salmon in the Current. As the band’s lead vocalist and frontman, Scott brings a natural stage presence, a soulful delivery, and an easy connection with the audience that helps define the band’s sound.

Before Salmon in the Current, Scott was the lead vocalist and main songwriter for Marking Twain, a Cincinnati-born rock band that built a devoted following in Ohio before relocating to Chicago and continuing under the name Cavashawn. Alongside Jesse Feister, Christopher Hellmann, and Benton Kubicki, Scott spent years writing, recording, and performing original music, opening for artists including John Mayer, Jason Mraz, OneRepublic, and Better Than Ezra.

That background as a songwriter and touring frontman gives Scott’s performances a mix of polish, personality, and genuine live-band energy. Whether the band is leaning into a driving rock anthem, a laid-back groove, or a heartfelt classic, Scott keeps the performance grounded, engaging, and unmistakably live.

With Salmon in the Current, Scott leads a group of seasoned musicians through rock, country, Americana, blues, and pop rock, giving the band its name, its identity, and its current.
